Flirty Thirty (Weeks)

Our baby is turning into a little boy!  He has already become a ladies man and smiles & giggles when he gets compliments.  At 30 weeks out, we are learning there is truth to the "once you get used to something, it changes" comment that parents make about kids.
  • The last three weeks have felt like one big rock[ing] fest, in terms of getting Gabriel to sleep (whether for naps or at night).  I am astounded at how he can be sound asleep while I rock him in the creakiest glider of all time but when I put him down in his crib and stealthily unsuccessfully jump over the obnoxious creaky floorboard, he pops right back awake.  I just don't get it.  Three weeks ago he used to go down in the crib awake but drowsy and put himself to sleep within 10 minutes just fine alone.  Now I can't leave the room without screaming waterworks commencing.  ::sigh::

  • Baby led weaning continues successfully (well, minus one vomiting episode two hours after he ate what was apparently an incredible amount - hard to tell how much he actually ingests when he makes such a big mess with his food!).  I definitely think he's going to grow up believing you're supposed to be photographed when eating a new food, haha!  (On a side note, the change between high chair and the little Infantino tray chair was due to losing the kitchen to construction mid-week.)

  • We had a play date with cousin Hailey this week (requested by the cute little 5 year old herself).  We went to the playground and enjoyed the swings.  Back at Daniel & Chrissy's house, Hailey tried a headband on Gabriel, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of "Gabriela" for his future girlfriends.

Meet "Gabriela"  haha!

  • We've been in the process of taking care of some home repairs that came up after some ice dam trouble this past winter.  We decided to take advantage of a day where we couldn't really do anything at the house (plaster was drying and we couldn't paint yet) and make our way to a beach.  We ended up at Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, RI.  Gabe got to try out sand (didn't hate it) and enjoy the ocean breeze.
Ready for a day at the beach!

First time trying applesauce - at the beach!
  • In preparation for summer, we picked up a kiddie pool (actually this is the second one; we weren't thrilled with the first type we bought).  Of course, after we got it filled the first time, the weather cooled off and we got rain for three days, so we still haven't used it.

"Mom, look!  I'm swimming!"
