Fun Facts About Gabe

I thought in honor of Gabriel's 29 week "birthday," we would create a list of things about him - talents, likes, dislikes, new milestones, etc.  Just a little different way to write the blog, especially since I procrastinated this week!  I will admit that I was going to do 29 different things, but as I got to around 15 I realized that it was tougher than I thought (and turning into a novel of a blog post!), haha!

I couldn't decide which of the following two pictures to use for his 29 week shot.

  1. Baby Led Weaning (BLW) is going very well!  Gabriel has over 10 foods under his belt already, including cantaloupe, avocado, hamburger, yogurt, strawberries, and cucumber.  (Maybe this should have been numbers 1-10?  Haha!)  Here's a video of him enjoying hamburger - click here
"What?  Is there something on my face?"  - Yep, avocado!

    Hamburger

    Yogurt on a pre-loaded spoon

"You put me here; now where is my food!?"

Strawberry, with a face covered in yogurt

    Cucumber

    Banana
  2. Along with BLW, Gabe started working on sippy cups.  He actually does much better with little plastic shot glasses I found at the dollar store. I know it looks like he uses the sippy cups well, but he really is only chewing on the mouthpiece and not getting much water that way.

  3. Gabriel had his first experience on a baby swing during our play date with our friend Amanda and her daughters Ginny & Sammy (from our breastfeeding support group) at Dean Park in Shrewsbury.  He loved it (especially when Daddy pushed him)!  Click here for a little video.

  4. Gabe is a little roller boy.  The worm rolls back and forth from belly to back to belly like crazy.  It's his way of wiggling to what he is trying to get to - must be just weeks away from crawling!
  5. He's in size 1 diapers FINALLY!  I think I mentioned this before, but they are still BIG on him at almost 7 months of age.  (I know it sounds like I am, but I am totally NOT complaining about this - newborn diapers are cheaper!)
  6. We've moved into size 3-6mo clothing FINALLY!  The onesies are good length-wise but a little baggie around the middle.  However, he still is in 3mo size pants because of his tiny little waist!  (Also not complaining on this count - he has been able to get a lot of use out of his clothes.)
  7. Gabe's new talent is shrieking.  Ugh, I really am not fond of it.  I think he is attempting to get to Mariah Carey high notes sometimes!
  8. Separation anxiety still hasn't subsided.  Now it is accompanied by wanting to be held all the time, not just merely being present in the room with him.  ::SIGH::
  9. Gabriel is highly coveted for visits lately.  Could be the cute smile.  Could be the giggle that is so perfect that it is worthy of being a ringtone.  This week we stopped in to visit Auntie Lorene & Uncle Phil and also the Kozaczka's. (I realized that what I wrote might come across via the picture like Lorene's dog's name is Uncle Phil, but that is not the case, haha!  The pup's name is Toby.  We didn't get a picture with Uncle Phil.)
Can't believe I got them all looking at the camera at the same time!

Baby Hudson is getting so big!
  10.  Baby Dances at Night presents...

    [Chugga chugga] choo chooooooo!
  11. Gabriel has been working on standing (with assistance) a lot lately.  I caught him using his exersaucer with "appropriate foot placement."  I'm sure he is moments away from bouncing, since he will bounce if you hold him on his feet in your lap.
  12. You can tell Gabe is growing lately - he has acquired a double chin (which especially shows when he is wearing a bib!).  I was changing his diaper one morning and he did some little twist on the changing table, which I captured in this beauty of a picture.  His belly and legs look so cute & chubby!

  13. This video (click here) highlights #7, #9, and a little better view of Gabriel's first tooth!
  14. Gabe has been reaching for everything lately - food, doors, and...  hair?

  15. Ok, I give up!  Here are some other cute pictures from the week:
