50 Weeks

50 Weeks this week!  Only a couple more until the big O-N-E!
  • Singing during breakfast video
  • Walking with assistance video This was amazing!  We are so proud of our little guy!  I think he'll be walking on his own by Christmas - bad news for the Christmas tree!
  • Even after trying to "throw a party" at 2:30am, Gabe is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when we get up for the day!

  • On Saturday we attended Richard's 1st birthday party.  Gabe got a taste of what he'll experience in just a few weeks when he turns ONE!  For those who want the information (and please don't take this as a request for gifts!), here is Gabriel's wishlist
This was a very busy week for us - midterms at work, pet sitting visits, home improvement renovations, teething.  Here are the few other pictures from the week that we had time to take:

Naptime cuddles

49 Weeks

Uh-oh!  Fast approaching the 50 week mark and inching closer to 1 year!
  • Trying to catch the polka dots!

  • Gabe's toys have surprised us this week with songs we have never heard them play before.  These are toys that have been out for a while.  I will anthropomorphize here and say that the toys are holding out on us with these new songs and they have been driving us crazy with the same four other songs!  Either that or Gabe unlocked some "super" level of play somehow, haha!  Craig & I were very confused!
  • Photo shoot in the cute hat from Grandma!

  • Bath toys aren't just for bath time.  Gabriel is learning how to put things in order.  He's currently working with the penguin and cups - thanks Kathy!

First Haircut

Gabe turned 11 months and then 48 weeks this week.

  • Bouncing daydreamer video
  • "Bleh-bleh-bleh" video
  • We've made it to 11 months of breastfeeding!  I stopped pumping at work on Oct 2nd (and got my second case of mastitis in 30 days as a result, ugh); it was a happy moment because, while I am not the biggest fan of pumping, I am very grateful to my pump for the good work it did in helping me nourish Gabe all these months while I was at work.

  • Impromptu photo shoot!  Here are some of the better ones:

  • Gabriel is becoming a little bit of a curious troublemaker!

  • Cool nights mean warmer blankets.  This beauty is handmade by Auntie Kristen - thank you!

  •  And now, without further ado, Gabe's first haircut at the barber!  He held still for at least 15 minutes.  Bruce, the barber, was shocked!  We had originally only asked for the back and the sides to get a quick trim (it was getting close to ponytail length!), but he was able to trim everything up.  Gabe looked quite the little boy and no longer a baby when all was said and done!

Other pictures from the week:

Stalking the ball - he's almost as good as the cats!
